Lace up your sneakers and step back in time to uncover the untold history of Black Americans in Philadelphia and the fight for freedom and justice. This walking tour explores the vibrant history of Philadelphia’s first free Black population, dating back to 1838. Join us as we walk 5-miles through historic Philadelphia, literally re-drawing the footsteps of history and exploring the lives of famous local Black figures like Harriet Jacobs, Reverend Richard Allen, Henrietta Duterte, and others.
