About me
Roshin Kurian is with the Portland Bureau of Transportation serving as a Transportation Demand Specialist. Roshin brings expertise in both the transportation and public health fields. She implemented bike share pilots, Prescribe-a-Bike and Citi Bike to School, through the Better Bike Share Partnership in New York City. She has since taken those learnings to Portland, Oregon to pilot Prescribe a Bike PDX as a Living Labs grantee through People for Bikes. She has also worked to bridge transportation access to folks living on low incomes and living with disabilities through the BIKETOWN for All and Adaptive BIKETOWN programs, respectively, and also piloted a Transportation Wallet program for people living in affordable housing that has since become a permanent program. Roshin earned her Master's in Public Health at St. George's University with a concentration in Epidemiology, a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the George Washington University, and has spent many years abroad working on global health projects. In her free time, you will find her exploring Portland by bike and foot, attempting to appreciate IPAs, planning bike gang adventures, and traveling to new cities to test out their bike share (field notes available upon request).
